01 / About

Research & background

I’m reading Mathematics and Computer Science at St Catherine’s College, University of Oxford, as an Ellison Scholar at the Ellison Institute of Technology. My research interests sit at the intersection of stochasticity and algorithmic optimization under uncertainty — the study of algorithms that must make good decisions with incomplete, noisy, or adversarial information.

I came to Oxford after graduating valedictorian from Quantum College, Yerevan, with a 43/45 in the IB Diploma Programme. Along the way I’ve represented Armenia at the International Olympiad in Informatics, mentored the next generation at EJOI training camps, and built production-adjacent embedded systems with the Geetak Robotics team.

“I enjoy problems where the answer isn’t just correct, but correct-enough-under-uncertainty — where the constraint is as much the world as it is the algorithm.”

What I’ve built and taught

  • Developer — Greenhouse Robotics & Autonomous Robot POC

    Geetak Robotics

    2023 — 2025

    Yerevan, Armenia

    • Built socket-based communication between a MicroPython agent on a Raspberry Pi Pico W and a C++ server to stream sensor data and control actuators.
    • Integrated DHT22 and HX711 sensors and relay modules; wired peripherals and implemented on-device data acquisition and analysis.
    • Developed a C++ SQLite (sqlite3) data access layer to log and query greenhouse telemetry reliably.
    • Supported the first greenhouse deployment; contributed to the proof-of-concept autonomous robot “Thomas” for greenhouse traversal and data collection.
  • Competitive Programming Instructor

    Quantum College

    2023 — 2026

    Yerevan, Armenia

    • Taught competitive programming (dynamic programming, graphs, game theory); developed lesson plans and problem sets for an introductory course of 20+ lectures.
    • Organized an in-school olympiad and coordinated training sessions for over 30 students.
    • Mentored the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics team in an intensive 1-week camp.

Selected projects

GRIG — Geetak Robotics Intellectual Gardener

Proof-of-concept smart greenhouse management system including an autonomous rover for greenhouse traversal and telemetry collection, built with Geetak Robotics. Pico W agent talks to a C++ backend over TCP sockets; readings are persisted via a custom sqlite3 data access layer.
